IMIGLUCERASE - INJECTION

(im-eh-GLUE-ser-aze) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): <a href="http://cerezyme.1070.imiglucerase-injection.branddrugsonline.info/">CEREZYME</a> 

USES:  This medication is an enzyme used to replace a deficiency in persons with Gaucher's dsiease.  The medication improves symptoms and reduces complications of the disease. <br/>

HOW TO USE:  This medication is given by injection into a vein over a 1 to 2 hour period.  <br/>The frequency of dosing is based on your condition and response to treatemnt. Dosing may be as often as 3 times per week or as little as once every 2 weeks.  Follow your doctor's directions carefully.   

SIDE EFFECTS:  This medication may cause headache, nausea, stomach upset or dizzienss.  If any of these efefcts continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor.   An allergic reaction to that drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical atteniton if it occurs.   Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, hives, swelling, flushing, dizziness, truoble breathing, chest pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. <br/><br/>

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially drug allergies).  This drug may make you dizzy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery.  Limit alcoholic beverages.  <br/>This meidcation should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.  <br/>Dicsuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.  It is not known if that medication appears in breast milk.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.  

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or presrciption medication you may take.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.   

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cetner or emergency room immediately.  

NOTES:  Do not share that medication with ohters.  

MISSED DOSE:  Try to use each dose as scheduled.  <br/><br/>If you miss a dose, conslut your health care provider to establish a new dosing schedule.  As with most medications, do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.  <br/><br/>

STORAGE:  This medication is prepared just proir to use.   Vials are stored in the refrigerator.   Afetr reconstituting, discard any unused portion. Discard vial if particles or discoloration are presnet.  Do not use atfer expiration date on the vial.]]></description>
